Abstract

APW is delighted to announce the prestigious APW George Collie Memorial Print Award for 2023 has been awarded to Allan Mitelman in recognition of his important and lifelong contribution to Australian printmaking.

During an impressive career that has spanned six decades, Allan has been highly influential in the development of contemporary Australian printmaking - as a highly respected contemporary artist, an educator, and a champion of the print medium.

Allan’s works have been exhibited and collected by major institutions in Australia and abroad including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Museum of Modern Art (New York) and The British Museum (London).

This exhibition showcases a selection of Allan's original prints produced in 1969 - 2011.
