Abstract

'A Common Thread' is a multi-themed exhibition, the culmination of 5 years of linocuts, collagraphs, monoprints and mixed media collages many of which Myra created at home printing by hand during lockdown. The common link, or rather the common thread, tying the variety of images was the inspiration derived from Myra’s personal collection of laces, doilies, crocheted and embroidered odds and sods housed in old suitcases. For Myra these hand-me-down items represent a link to family stories, tales of surviving war and new beginnings in a new land.
