Biography
Linda JACKSON
Linda Jackson made clothes for Clarence Chai in Melbourne, and Flamingo Park in Sydney. At the same time her interests in designing and making silver and opal jewellery began to develop. At these enthusiasms played a greater part in her activities, her work began to diverge significantly from that of her partner Jenny Kee, and Linda Jackson stepped out on her own. In 1982, Linda Jackson opened her own shop, Bush Couture in the Kings Cross - Australia's answer to haute couture. At first a screenprint workshop was maintained in nearby Darlinghurst, Sydney but was later moved to the large William Street premises. In 1990 the workshop was closed and Linda Jackson greatly reduced her activities as a fahion designer, to concentrate on her career as an artist.
