Biography

Jean Baptiste Apuatimi was born c.1940 at Pularumpi in the Northern Territory. Her language is Tiwi and she now lives in Nguiu, Bathurst Island. Taught to paint by her husband Declan Apuatimi, her work both as a painter and printmaker is strongly based on her Tiwi heritage.
