Biography

Harcourt Barrett was the eldest son of William Barrett, an English lithographer. Harcourt Barrett was the lithographer for 'The forest Flora of South Australia' (1882). As South Australian Government lithographer he was responsible for drawing all the images on stones. In a letter to the 'The Advertiser' he noted that Rosa Fiveash did not supply all the watercolours for the production, and that he had drawn eleven images direct from photographs. He later became the scientific illustrator for the Royal Society of South Australia.
