Biography

Encouraged in music from an early age he became a highly regarded jazz musician but this never became his profession. He studied at Melbourne Technical School from 1943 becoming a highly successful commercial artist - working initially for 'Womens Day' until 1952 when he resigned to travel to England and Europe - where he was especially drawn to the culture of Spain. He returned to Melbourne in 1954 and in the mid 1970s relocated to Sydney. He excelled as a commercial artist and graphic designer but also exhibited as a painter and printmaker.
