From 1962 to 1965 Sieglinde Brennan worked and travelled in New Zealand, Europe and England after which she returned to Australia. In 1968 she travelled to England where from 1974 to 1978 she studied jewellery at the Middlesex Polytechnic. In 1982 she returned to Australia. Her work, exhibited at the Crafts Council Gallery, The Rocks, Sydney in July 1983, showed a highly individual and direct response to the Australian landscape, and was of great importance to other Australian jewellers. Since December 1985 she has used her married name Karl.
