Biography
Elinor J. Robey
Elinor J. Robey was born on 3 August c1884 in Hobart. As a Quaker she practised many of the genteel occupations the women of that faith are known for. From April 1912 to January 1914 Miss Robey studied in England, and at the Glasgow Art School with Ann McBeth (1875-1948) a prominent member of the Glasgow School who was influential in the dissemination of new methods in the field of embroidery education. She died on 23 November 1971.
