Biography
Emanuel Raft
Born in Egypt in 1938 Emanuel Raft, (Raftopoulos), came to Australia in 1956. He studied painting at the Bissietta Art School, in Sydney 1956-59, and sculpture with Luciano Minguzzi in Italy, 1959-60, after which he returned to Sydney and worked in industrial design for a year. From 1963 to 1966 he was a part-time lecturer at the School of Architecture, University of Sydney. In 1966 he left for England and from 1967 to 1969 lectured in the 3D Department of the Birmingham College of Art and Design, Great Britain.
