Biography
ALAN OWEN, born 1950, Abyad, Egypt. First exhibited 1980 Exhibition of Multimedia at the Schonelle Gallery, Queensland University. Alan Owen is a former lecturer at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. His studio experience encompasses printmaking, drawing, photography and digital media. He has designed, taught, interdisciplinary courses in this field for the past 25 years. Earlier studies include literature and philosophy at the University of London, graphic design at the Eastbourne College of Art in Sussex, England and a Graduate Diploma of Education at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. This formal training was undertaken after years of extensive travel in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, India, and South East Asia. His work continues to reference social, cultural and ecological cerns especially those pertaining to architectural heritage and natural environment. [Impress Printmakers, 2019].
