Biography

Marina Shaw

Marina Philomena Shaw was born in Perth, Western Australian on 6 June 1903. She first studied china painting with Flora Landells (1888-1981) when living at Greenmount, Perth in the late 1930s. From 1939-43 she lived at Dalwallinu, north-west of Perth and then returned to Perth. In 1948 she moved to Melbourne and began studying pottery with George Allen and did no more painting on china after this. From the early to mid 1960s she studied sculpture at the Slade School, London.
