Biography
Rupert Bunny
Born Melbourne 29 September 1864, Rupert C.W. Bunny studied at the National Gallery School, Melbourne from 1882-83. In 1883 he travelled to Europe where he lived for the next 46 years. He attended Calderon’s Art School 1884-85. He exhibited successfully at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon. Rupert Bunny exhibited monotypes at the Fine Art Society's Galleries, London, 1898. Galerie Graves, Paris 1905 and in 1921 held an exhibition of 65 monotypes at the Galeries Georges Petit. He also exhibited monotypes in Australia at Everymans Library, Melbourne in 1933, and Macquarie Galleries, Sydney in 1941, 1943 and 1949. He died in 1947.
