Biography

Anne Gela was born on Moa (Banks) Island, Torres Strait in 1953. A founding member of the Saima Torres Strait Islanders' Corperation in Rockhampton, she is presently working as an Arts Coordinator for the Corperation. She was the first Torres Strait Islander to receive an individual Ars Grant from Arts Queensland.
