Biography
>Paul Beadle
Paul John Beadle was born in England on 25 November 1917. He studied at Cambridge Art School from 1933 to 1933 and again from 1937 to 1939 at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London. He arrived in Australia in 1945, and taught at the National Art School, Sydney 1946-47, before becoming Head of Art School, Newcastle between 1952 and 1957 and Principal, South Australian School of Art from 1958 to 1960.
In 1961 he left Australia to take up the position of Professor of Fine Arts, University of Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. Beadle is primarily a sculptor, but has also produced highly skilled wood-engravings.
