Summary

Left Norway when he was 15 when he ran away on a sailing ship. He settled in Australia when about 19. Studied at the National Gallery of Victoria Art School. Others in his class were George Colville, John Loxton and Buckmaster. Married in 1944. [information from widow, RB, 1979].
