Biography

Doug Alexander
1945-1981

Born in Ballarat in 1945, Douglas Alexander gained his Diploma of Art in ceramics from the Ballarat School of Mines, after which he worked at the Bendigo Potteries and for a time in New Zealand. He established the Springmount Pottery at Creswick, Victoria, and in 1976 the Cuppacumbalong Pottery, at Tharwa, ACT, where he died on 14 June 1981
