Biography

Thomas Bluett was born in 1819 and worked with Day & Haghe as a lithographer. He arrived in Wellington NZ in 20 April 1841. After a few months he crossed over to Sydney to work for Raphael Clint, and later to Hobart to continue work with John Skinner Prout. He returned to London in 1844/5 via Hong Kong and Calcutta, only to be accidentally shot in 1846 by a teenage boy playing with a loaded gun in a crowded street."
