Biography
Marianne Courtenay studied design at the National Art School, Sydney, but is best known as a printmaker, specialising in limited edition collagraph prints, woodblocks and more recently, computer-based digital images. She also makes two and three dimensional assemblages and is currently re-visiting painting. Marianne has worked as a high school art teacher, as a tertiary level lecturer and in arts and education administration. Now, while primarily concentrating on her own practice, she also gives workshops in printmaking and drawing, and teaches on a casual basis in the Arts and Media faculty of the Illawarra Institute of TAFE (NSW). Marianne’s work is held in public and corporate collections in New South Wales and in private collections across Australia, in the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan and Europe.
