Biography
Joseph (John) Dickinson (1780-1849), stationer, print-seller and print publisher had established his business at 114 New Bond Street, London by 1821. After his death the business was taked over by his three sons William Robert Dickinson (1815-1887), Lowes Cato Dickinson (1819-1908) and Gilbert Bell Dickinson (1825-1908). They traded as Dickinson Brothers adding photography to their art publishing.
