Biography

Frederick Ward
Frederick C. Ward was born in 1900. From the 1920s he was involved with furniture design and in the 1930s was designing furniture for Cynthia Reed's Modern Furniture Shop, for whom Sam Atyeo also designed, and also the Myer Emporium Ltd. He was responsible for the furnishing of several buildings in Canberra, in particular University House in the 1950s. In 1967 he designed furniture ordered by Lady Casey for the Aides' Quarters at Admiralty House, Kirribilli, New South Wales.
