Ron Rowe was born in Broken Hill in 1944 and studied at the South Australian School of Art from 1962 to 1964. In 1971 he lectured at the Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, and the following year returned to Adelaide to lecture at the South Australian School of Art, and in 1973 at the Torrens College of Advanced Education, School of Art. He has exhibited extensively and is mostly known for his work as a sculptor.
