Biography
Bruce Anderson
Bruce Anderson was born on 20 August 1950 at Surry Hills, Melbourne. In 1971 he graduated with a Diploma of Art, Sulpture, from the Prahran College of Technology. During 1972 and 1973 he worked at Raynham Ceramics, Murrumbeena, which had been Guy Boyd's pottery, but was then producing slip-cast vases etc. He spent 1973 in the army with National Service after which he completed a teacher education course at the State College of Victoria, Auburn. In 1975 he taught in a state secondary technical college.
Deciding to gain more knowledge of ceramics Bruce Anderson spent 1976 attending a ceramics course at the Prahran College after which he again taught in the state school system. From 1977 until 1984 he was head of the Department of Ceramics at the Townsville TAFE and since 1984 at the Darling Downs Institute, Toowoomba, Queensland.
