Biography

John Banks

Born in Sydney in 1833, John D. Banks studied at the J.J.Watkins School, Sydney, under Harry Garlick. He was an Associate of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales 1923-45. Banks was chiefly a painter of seascapes and ships, only a few etchings being known. Banks died in Sydney or 28 June 1945.
