Production notes

The artist notes: I wanted to use the visual seductiveness of a multi-coloured screenprinted surface both to attract people to the posters and as part of the general advertising surface so important to the Show. Colour, particularly red, was used to relate and emphasise different parts within the poster and to bind the series together. Each poster has seven colours printed in the following sequence - pale blue, darker blue, red, pink (hand-cut stencils, grey, transparent yellow and black (photostencils). Two hundred and thirty sets were printed. (Toni Robertoson, 'The Royal Nuclear Show 1979-81' in Virginia Coventry (ed) The critical distance, Sydney: Hale & Iremonger, 1986, p.179.
