2005/2011 ShinyShinyWorld. Series of exhibitions and video installations working with environmental issues including residencies in Paris, the High Arctic, Saint Tropez and Central Java.

1998/2001 Writing the City. Series of installations in Sydney and Brisbane exploring interactive installation of text through cities. Biennale of Sydney and Brisbane Festival of Ideas.

1998/94 Archaeology of Memory. Series of works exploring memory and public archive. Permanent and temporary works, hosted by Australian Museum, Australian Consulate Galleries in Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore and City of Sydney.

Dr Anderson’s concerns as an artist over thirty years of practise have ranged intellectually across issues of memory, the environment and archaeology through her accessible imagery and sound works within architectural, virtual and public space. Anderson has written and presented a number of academic papers, blogs and presentations exploring and demonstrating her contemporary public art approaches. Dr Anderson has curated exhibitions and public spaces that further engage with these concepts.
Anderson has had guest artist residencies in the High Arctic, Paris, New York, Sydney, Brisbane, Ireland and the Philippines supporting the creating of exhibitions and installations relating to specific places and times. Anderson’s work through these processes has been included as special events alongside the Sydney Biennale and in international festivals and exhibitions.
University of Wollongong supported a series of digital lens based prints touring University galleries in Canada as part of her ShinyShinyWorld projects. While The Truth About SnoDomes a sculptural and video installation based on her residency on the Russian Icebreaker the Kapitan Khlebnikov in the High Arctic, is touring regional galleries in Australia and International Festivals.
Anderson is engaged in contemporary access media as the subject of recent ABC TV Arts Shows and radio including a Conversation Hour with Richard Fidler, and Sunday Arts with Jo Chichester discussing her artworks and the making of these through extreme conditions of climate and pollution on our health and environments. There are many popular Youtube videos and interviews, as well as artwork on line through several online virtual communities such as an ongoing blog on Artshub and a regular weekly radio show ‘What Were You Thinking?’ where Anderson interviews artists, writers, performers and others are asked about diaries, blogs and tweets as a form of work or as an influence on their work.
ShinyShinyCloud is Dr Lisa Anderson’s current project. The basis of the project is to create artwork, consultations, strategies and conversations that negotiate new and old technologies through the changing new world narrative of environmental changes. The work explores the “cloud’ as a sharing space open to understandings of people as the notions of public and personal shift globally, as well as ‘clouds’ in response to pollution and climate change.
Dr Anderson recently undertaken the Visiting Scholar in Architecture Innovation Fellow at UTS Sydney (2008/10) and Honorary Fellow in Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong (2005/9) developing accessible projects that utilise public art, film, performance, photographs and sound works that provide an ability to understand and create responses to major issues of sharing information concerning our environment.
