David Lasisi

David Lasisi was born in Lossu, New Ireland in 1955 and was among the first group of students with higher secondary education to enter the tertiary system. From 1975 to 1979 he worked at the Creative Arts Centre / National Arts School, concentrating on screenprinting. He has also worked on a number of public commissions for murals and sculpture.  Most of Lasisi’s prints works are either derived from or accompanied by traditional Papua New Guinean stories or poems. He was also involved in the theatre.
