Nino Sabatino (Ceferino Garcia)

Nino Sabatinowas born on Waiben (Thursday) Island, Torres Straits in 1975 and is from Kiriri (Hammond Island). He attended the Far North Queensland TAFE, graduating with his Associate Diploma of Arts (ATSI) from Cairns TAFE in 1994. His work focuses on his people's traditions and the spiritual and cultural connection the Torres Strait Islanders have with the sea and its creatures.
