Tatipai Barsa

Tatipai Barsa was born on Mer (Murray Island), on the eastern side of the Torres Strait in 1967 and gained his Associate Diploma from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Visual Arts course at the Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE, Cairns. His images are drawn from his island home and the life of the tropical seas. He is a painter and printmaker who exhibits frequently and a series of his large linocut prints are displayed in the new Cairns Convention Centre.
