Abstract

Penny Coss refers to her fascination with the process of painting “liquid elemental paint coalescing in layers like geological strata”. The Perth based artist has been involved in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout Australia. She is a 3 time finalist in the Bank West Award and her work is held in major Australian institutions including Artbank, BankWest, the Derwent Collection, University of NSW and Westfarmers.

In Sue Ninham’s watercolours, graceful and architectural motifs dance playfully across the paper. Since 1993 Ninham has exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Last year she won the national Windsor and Newton Watercolour Prize. [Gallery media, 2009]
