Abstract

Bella Wells presnts an exhibition of screenprints on canvas and large scale digital prints. She uses the public spectacle of graffit as inspiration in the creation of her works that often requires public intervention to reveal their intent.

She had screenprinted onto canvas panels which enable them to be constructed into a the 3 dimensional form of a tent as well as being displayed as separate pieces. The imagery found in the tent panels sourced from specific sites in Melbourne; found statements, wallpaper patterns, automotive airbrushing stencils and hot metal foiling, have been layered together to create a rich collage that blend and compete for attention.
