Christopher Sanders
Christopher Brown Sanders was born in Melbourne on 4 March 1952, receiving training from his father Tom Sanders from 1972-74 and Ian Sprague with whom he worked at Mungeribar Pottery, Upper Beaconsfield, Victoria from 1976-78. In 1978 he went on a study tour of the United States, Canada and England. He received a Crafts Board of the Australia Council workshop assistance grant in 1979 and also lectured part-time at Prahran College from then until 1981 when he established the Clifton Hill Pottery and commenced full-time production. Chris Sanders has thrown pots for several artists to decorate including Anne Hall, who continued to model the pieces, Murray Walker, Don Green and Peter Cooley.
